sorry but i watch all and don't think that you benefit from watching any channel, they're all equally boring
I have all the sky channels but very rarely watch them. Im happy enough with the terrestrial channels i have ! I often flick through what seems like hundreds of channels to find absolutely nothing to watch.
Yes, because although you get rubbish on all stations, having umpteen choices just means that people are sometimes glued to the TV instead of getting out and doing other things. It even stifles conversation. Personally, I could go without a TV at all.
lol julie fancy a cream cake? shhhhh don't tell Boo
alll you need variety .
otherwise its like marraige

dull and repetative
Maybe they would benefit more by chucking the bloody thing out.and talking to each other.

obv the switch over to digital is going to occur soon,

if you just watched bbc1 and 2 obviously the choice of tv would be limited, but the watcher would only be exposed to what the two channels offer.

obv all tv is censored and has to conform to advertising standards
O I dont mind at all -I like the choice- have to say that IMO Channel 4 and Sky Sports produce the programmes which suit my taste-not a great tele watcher tho - I like the surfing and something obscure catching my eye -usually later on at night.

I have to say however I watched the tele in bed last night and watched the Royle Family and had the best laugh.

I dont think choice detracts from conversation et al -we all have the ability to make choices and on each PC/TV there is an off button. The choice ergo is yours.

I was purposely seeing how many times I could get choice in that post -and I am a bare-faced liar -I just noticed -lol
it depends what you find interesting... the docu channels are very good :o)
Nah....still have to agree with ray. We've got computers now - newspapers - books - whatever. It wouldn't bother me if we could only receive ONE TV station - although the children might think differently. I think they watch too much of it as it is.

is tv nothing more than propaganda?
If you have one sky box, linked to a reasonable tv, and 2 of you watching, chances are I am going to be disappointed. Not for nothing does by husband have a t shirt and a mug captioned with 'man with control of remote'.

'We' watch programmes from a variety of channels, with a heavy leaning towards anything showing football.

I find I benefit a great deal when his tv watching turns into a nap. I watch anything but football. Just as long as I can prise the remote out of his hand without waking him ....

I believe we actually watch more terrestrial tv than sky but I will always steer towards wherever a good movie is on.

I hardly watch tv anymore, as I get older I find my attention span is waning so I can very rarely sit through a whole tv programme without either fidgeting or getting up and doing something else, or absent mindedly gazing off into space.
So errrr, no,in answer to your question, I don't think people would benefit either way.

has tv been so accepted into popular culture that most feel that they have to have a tv set?regardless of the fact if it is watched or not?
