i was talking to my friend about flashers last night (don't ask) and it got me thinking about how i would handle the situation if it happened to me! Im lucky, it never has, yet!
Have you ever been flashed at and if so what did you do or if you were , how do you reckon you'd handle it?
I like to think i'd come back with an acidic put down but could i in the heat of the moment???? Not so sure if i'd be tongue tied and a little rattled!
I was with a group of friends, a sunday and we were on the tube travelling somewhere when a man stood up and revealed his crown jewels.
We laughed but I was shocked. He got off the tube before we could do anything and disappeared.
My Granny was confronted by a flasher when she was in her 80's. She said "Oh put it away you silly little man, it's hardly worth showing !" He walked away speechless.
She thought it was funny and it certainly didn't frighten her.
It happened to me once and I just calmly said 'I think you need to put your trousers back on don't you'
Then after I was shaking thinking of what else he could have done
It was one of those surreal experiences
Hi unrulyjulie, I have been flashed twice before. Both times I was very vunerable.
The first was when I was a younger working abroad and the second in a spooky underpass when I was 8 months!!!
Afterwards I did the 'I wish I'd said this or I wish I'd acted like that' but at the time I was so scared I just wanted to get away and be safe.
BTW I'm alot older and wiser now and it makes me shudder, at how I even 'dared' to walk around during the daylight hours as a young women with creeps around like that...lol <<sarcasm btw
thanks unrulyjulie ! She was great but sadly no longer with us, but even made us laugh on her death bed. As we sat round her bed we thought she had died, then she opened her eyes and laughed and said " Bloody hell, I keep thinking I've gone and I haven't !! "
