DVD to VHS Tape

I'm trying to transfer a DVD onto a VHS tape. The recording works and the sound is ok, but the picture is black and white. Does anyone know why there is no colour? I've made lots of recordings from tape to DVD without any problems. Any help appreciated. TIA.

Might help if you say HOW you are doing this. Is it one machine (a combi) or two. If two, possibly the lead needs securing. Check the tracking on the video too. Other than that, can't really help sorry.
