Car costs in London

Can anyone please tell me the cost of having a car in City of London. I need to know the cost of petrol, say an average to fill a tank to last a week (if thats possible), conjestion charges per week and car parking cost per week.... I'm doing research on electric cars and wanted to know how much can be saved... but I don't drive and live up north so have no idea of congestion charges!!!!! All answers should be given as an average guide.... Thank you!!! x

Well cause of the pr1ck livinstone and the holy grail red big brother goverment I have to pay �60 a week in petrol and �45 a week in congesetion charges wheer thanfully the the congesetion charges has worked as the central of london is still gridlocked all the time.

Hi Lana,

I can only speak for myself, but we only use our car for shopping and social trips.

I fill it up when I go shopping averaging �15-20 per week.

We never drive into central london, because of the congestion charge which is �8 per day!!

There is a car park opposite my building where I work and they charge �21 per day!!!

Thanks guys.... I was trying to find out the savings in a year... of course, this would also include the tax as it's only Group 1... i guess it would vary a great deal... in other words, i wanted to find the average difference between the cost of running a normal car to running an electric car.

By the way kp, maybe YOU should think about getting one... sure they're ugly, but it looks like it will save you �5460 and thats WITHOUT tax and insurance.... maybe worth thinking about... thats a rather fine holiday you could have!!!!
