I have a six and half month old King Charles Cavalier spaniel who has taken to pinching a carrot each morning as I am feeding our two pet rabbits! Is it safe to let her eat a carrot each day?
Hi louise
I have a liitle Westie.
She hates cooked carrots but she often has raw carrots. Not too many but she does enjoy them.
They will not do her any harm, but don't worry if her poo has orange or red in it.
It is just the carrots.
My old dog(gone 3 years now) loved carrots from when she was a pup.....we found that a carrot was a good substitute for eating our shoes and the furniture!!
I wouldn't worry, Max is now six and has eaten raw carrot since he was a pup, he seems to know when carrots are being prepared for dinner, appearing from nowhere and giving you the "look" untill he gets a piece, He only gets a piece maybe once a week and its never done him any harm yet
Our westi loves carrots!
We thought it was because she was always around our horses when we fed them carrots she felt she was being left out, however she now has a carrot on a regular basis!
Our other dog a Parsons Jack Russell loves all fruit especially an apple core.
Our vet said there is no problem at least they eat "low fat" snacks!!
we had a jack russell who used to like apples that he had "picked" by jumping up and pulling them from the tree it never did jhim any harm so just relax most animals will not eat anything that will harm them
Our labrador loves carrots and apples, she has a carrot after each meal and a bit of apple and carrot for her lunch. It has never done her any harm, in fact she is the picture of good health.
