Thanks all for you enlightenment. I am still not out of the woods and humbly request some HINTS for the following:
5Ac: Drops gown in the theatre ( 6 ): ?C?U?? 22Ac: See a tennis player lose final two points in game ( 7 ) : C??AS??
DOWN 4: Peers at the ground (5 ): LO??? =LOOKS? 8: ??H? 13: ?A???S?I 15: ?????E? 23: ??AB?R? ( How to interpret 106?...another clue?) 27: G?D??IN ( Who are these men at table? A hint?) 34: ?E?MI ( How to interpret 00? Another hint?)
Any assistance, hints, further clues, will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
The "table" people are not all men. One is a woman and another could be either a man or a woman, depending on which of the two the crossword setter is referring to. But it does not matter which one because being married to one another they have the same name.
5a. Think of a TV series set in a hospital theatre rather than an actors' theatre.
8, 13, 15, 23, 27 and 34 are all the unclued Tablemates
If you have 43 across you should have at least one clue; and if you look at other posts with the title Spectator 1852, you will find other hints to these names - I know, because I asked for one..
