Earlier today I was having a jolly good time singing along nice and loudly to Maroon 5, when in came my Nanna. She told me I have the voice of an angel........................................One that is having a strangling fight with a cat!!! Humph!! I thought grandparent's were supposed to be caring old people, not a cow like mine!!
If I remember right, the song I sang in the taxi was "Only You" by the Flying Pickets. The mistake I made was trying to sing all the harmonies on my own.
It's a known fact that older people's (like your nanna) hearing changes and that's why she doesn't appreciate your warblings.
If you want an air guitar duet anytime just say. In my teens I spent hours with my tennis raquet in front of the bedroom mirror lol.
I also had the hairbrush microphone!
I am loving that theory mrs_o!! That's why she doesn't appriciate my musical ability, because she's old! She'll love that one when I tell her, HeeHee!!
Ahh that's no fun Louisa, one of my good friend's is a great singer so we go to a lot of karaoke bar's!! I tend not to get up when I'm with her tho as she make's me look verrrry bad! lol
Blimey IAP, you just put all us karaoke killer's to shame!!
When I was a kid of about seven or eight, I was playing in my room and singing to myself. My sister came upstairs to find me for dinner and when we got downstairs she announced that I must not have heard them calling because I was singing. Mum said, "Oh, is that what it was? I thought it was the wind howling."
I have never sung at home (and very rarely outside it) since that day.
