Don't know, but during the American Civil War, a General whose name escapes me said "They couldn't hit a barn door from there" and they were his last words.

This is my favourite "famous last words" story.
It was General John Sidgwick, at the battle of Spotsylvania.
He was berating his men for their cowardice at flinching and trying to hide when under enemy gunfire.
He stood up and said, " They couldn't hit an elephant at this dist.....", and was promptly hit in the face by a sniper's bullet.
Apparently, he was the highest ranking officer killed in the American civil war.
