Club biscuits are amongst items, like Mars Bars, that have suffered 'shrinkage' at the hands of the manufacturers over the years.
They used to be covered with an amazingly thick layer of chocolate, almost like a chocolate bar that happened to contain a biscuit. But now they're coated so thinly that you can often see the biscuit through the chocolate.
I used to love them, but not any more.
Blimey Club biscuits. You were well off if you had these in the biscuit barrel. I still buy Viscount mint biscuits and Jacobs iced gems which luckily haven't changed at all over the years. Totally endorse the above comments about Club biscuits shrinking. I used to lick the choccy off first then eat the biscuit. The chocolate was so thick. Probably a European Union Directive on chocolate thicknesses put an end to it all.
Terrys Chocolate Orange has changed completely. They make them in the Czech Republic or Slovenia or somewhere like that and they taste so different now.
Too right about Wagon Wheels. When I was a nipper I had to cover a Wagon Wheel with grease and use a giant sink plunger to get it through my bedroom door.
