80s fancy dress party

my friend's been invited to a fancy dress party.
we are trying to think of an 80s icon.
any ideas?

...go as a rubick's cube.... large box holes in it for arms and head, coloured squares of paper on the sides... throw it away at end of party so you don't have to walk home looking like a pr@t...

Go as Don Johnson out of Miami Vice. Dodgy streaked mullet hairdo, orange sun-bed face, white linen jacket, pink t-shirt underneath, baggy cotton trousers (usually pale blue), no socks and those weird rope shoes popular among the 80's ponces....espidrilles was it?
