what do you think is the most versatile food or ingredient etc, salad, cheese, eggs etc can
be served with a lot of dishes whats your
suggestion?

Cheese!!
But i will happily eat cheese with everything, even on chicken in black bean sauce with noodles!

Potatoes, or onions. Both very versatile. In one cae, "waffle-y versatile"!
Eggs can be used in lots of different ways rather than served with different dishes.

Frying, boiling, scrambling, baking, binding, coating, glazing etc etc.

Salad can be eaten with everything depending on what it consists of.

Yes it is! but it also tastes very good!

With every form of potoato, you can have cheese, same with onions!
Plus there are soooooo many more ways you can eat cheese, therefore I say cheese is more versatile! lol!
I'd have to say tomatoes, even though I hate the things. They are the basis of many sauces, are a crucial ingredient in stuff like chilli, spag bol, curry etc and can be added to salad, made into salsa, grilled on a full english... the list is endless!
Rice & pasta.

There are so many different sauces and you can even eat it hot or cold.
