Caring for a portuguese limestone fireplace surround

Hi all,
am awaiting delivery and installation of the above. Wonder if any of you have any experience of how to care for them. I understand that they can stain very easily. The fire will be an electric one.

Preferably, it should be coated with a sealant in the same way as you would a new limestone-tiled floor.
Google for 'limestone sealing' and you'll find any number of links for products.
