Do you think you should read the book or watch the film first. I have just watched The last legion and was very dissapointed after reading the book which I though was brilliant. But if I watched the film I would not want to read the book. This is a no win situation.
MMmmm tough one!! Depends if you are more of a book person or a film person. When reading a book to appreciate the film you must learn to understand that there has to be some cut offs and stuff. There is no film that i have watched that i read as a book that has made me dissapointed. ALL harry potters are ace. I LOVE everything about The da vinci code and i loved both the book and film to jarhead. I love all the drama periods but some films or tv adaptations are better than others. I just cant wait for the film of 'The Time Travellers Wife' to come out.
I enjoy reading more than watching film's so I read the book first. Then if I go to watch the film I try and view it as a seprate story as they are never the same.
I read 'PS I Love you' a couple for years ago, it was a really good first novel by Cecille Ahern. I recently watched the film and was totally disapointed.
However, read the Green Mile, years ago, it was OK.
But, the film was amazing...
It depends on who does the screen play and whether they are required to stick to the story.
I have a rule that if I have read the book I won't watch the film but I will do it the other way round!
When I read a book I get an image of the characters in my head and the film NEVER lives up to that!
Anyone who has read any James Patterson Detective Cross books and then watched the films must know what I am saying!!
