Reloading operating system
2 Answers
I am experiencing some problems with my Sony VAIO laptop. I need to format the whole system and reload the software (windows xp prof operating system). Could anyone give me a clue how to do this? Step by step would be great (cos I'm a bit of a technophobe) Thanks.

Backup all of your important data (as this will be deleted by the re-install) then put the first of your restore CDs in the CD tray. Boot the machine and follow the instructions. Once the last CD has been used, the system will reboot and you will have the computer set to exactly as it was when you bought it. I would setup then internet connection then I would then service pack it (Windows XP SP-2). I would then put your applications back on (eg Office/anti virus etc) using the original installation CDs.
