A good musical

We are trying to think of a good musical to do for our week long summer workshop. It is about 50 kids, from 6-14 years, more younger ones than older. Last year we did High School Musical and it was fab. Previously we have done Bugsy and ones we have written ourselves.

Any ideas for a good one for this year? Has to be something kids will love and that there are enough parts in for more than 2 leads, but something that older kids would like to. Any ideas?!

Hi Scarlett, what about "Blood Brothers" I love that musical or is that maybe a bit to extreme for kids?

Oliver and Joseph are great ideas, but our local secondary school just did Little Shop Of Horrors and it was terrific

Little Shop of Horrors always seems to go down well with youngsters.

You could maybe adapt the Blues Brothers for them - that's good fun.

Or what about Joseph? Lots of well known songs, big cast, colourful costumes and some good character parts.

Forgot to mention, Footloose could be a good one too. I also remember my son's primary school once doing Grease. They thoroughly enjoyed it, although the staff did have to skirt around the teenage pregnancy issue.

'Annie' is pretty good if theres more girls than boys. Or maybe 'The Wiz' or ' 'Grease'? but it might be a little old? xx
