I would try and solve the problem which is causing IE to crash in the first place.
The first thing to do is to reset all the IE defaults by clicking on tools, then Internet Options, then Advanced, and then click the Reset button at the bottom of that page.
This will delete all temporary files which are no longer required, disable all add-ons which can easily be accumulated over time without realising, and reset all IE functions to their defaults.
This will often cure a crashing browser problem.

your big problem is that IE isn't a prog that's installed on windows .... it's actually part of the OS ... so webdude is right - ignore the problem and you could find others.
until recently it used to happen to me on this very site ... I assume mr AB fixed the problem with the site's code.
so the first question is ... generally all sites ... or just a couple?
options .... make sure that windows is fully up-to-date..... consider upgrading to IE7
could try firefox on a site you know causes problems
http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_ portable
just download and run ... if you don't like ... just delete
