a few questions..................roughly how old is the house....................semi, terrace, or detached..... can you see slates in the loft space or roofer's felt?

Hi, The house was built in the 70's, Terrace house and i cant see any slates just the felt. This is where i can see the dropletts of water.
.........I thought that might be the case...............there were hardly any requirements in 70s building regulations for roof ventilation. You can imagine all the moisture from the house (cooking washing breathing etc) rising into the roof space. Particularly at this time of year, this condenses easily on a freezing cold roof covering.

You need "cross ventilation" from front eaves to rear eaves. ie from the flat bit (soffit) just behind the fascia board to the same on the rear of the house.

You can buy, for instance, small round plastic vents to install into the soffits (simple job as long as the soffits are wide enough).

Ask at the counter of a good builder's merchants - or check this site out :

...wish I could draw you a sketch..........would explain a lot easier than I can!

make sure there's no loft insulation bunging these up :o)))

Thank you for this !!

I dont think its a job i would be able to do? Would you know how much (routhly) it would cost for a roofer to put these in?

You wouldn't even need a roofer. A good local handyman. or a decent (recommended) jobbing builder would make light work of it.
Local rates vary a lot - but, assuming you're only 2 storey, 2 or 3 hours off a ladder should do it.

Good luck :o)
Have you got an open vented heating system with a feed tank in the attic? If so check that it is not warm and that water is not being pumped over the vent or expanding over.
The condensation from this may be the cause. Also do not check just the once.
