Start up prgram removal on Vista
I have Vista Home Premium. On switching on it loads up various programs, some of which I no long use. How do I stop them from beginning at switch on WITHOUT Uninstalling them as I may wish to use them in the future and have plenty of Drive space to keep them in reserve.

You could install this great little program called WinPatrol. Get it free here:
http://www.winpatrol.com/
This lists all the programs that start when Windows starts and allows you to stop them loading completely, or to delay them loading until after Vista has started.
It is also a great security program to have installed. It warns you when anybody tries to install a program (maybe secretly without your knowledge) and you get a chance to say no.
It also monitors your browser and stops anyone changing your home page without your knowledge or hijacking your browser in any way.
Great program to have on your PC.

If you have the original software uninstall it .... re-install should you need
far better for your system ... just in case is fine ....
but you are definitely slowing your system up by leaving them on your HDD
but try

.... should do the trick
