My cat is unsociable downstairs most of the time, but won't leave me alone upstairs. She sits on my knee while I am on the computer, then gets off, walks around in a circle sticks her head into my shoulder and stays there for a few minutes and then gets back on to my knee. This is continuos all the time I sit here. Why?
Hi - They are creatures of habit. I have a cat who only gives me any attention in the same place at exactly the same time of day. The rest of the time she will even growl if you try and stroke her! Once they get into a routine they stick to it.
You cat is jealous of whatever you are paying attention to other than her/him. One of my cats ignores me most of the time, but when I'm on the phone or the computer, she comes rubbing around me wanting attention at sits on my knee. Cats can be quite possessive with their 'people' and although you may think they're being antisocial by sitting away from you, they don't like to see you paying attention something else other than them !
