Vegas and Florida
Thanks everyone for all your help with my other questions. Just realised I will be away for Spring Break, what am I to expect and any tips? Going to Vegas w/c 17th March and Orlando w/c 24th March, what will the weather be like and what clothes will be needed for night. Also what comedy or magic shows are best in Vegas? Thanks again for all your help!

In Las Vegas, expect daytime temperatures around 23C. However, take some warm clothes because temperatures typically drop to around 4C overnight:

(Note that the highest recorded temperature for that week is 34C, so it might get really hot. The record overnight minimum is -4C so it can also get very chilly!)
Las Vegas is surrounded by desert, so rainfall shouldn't be a problem ;-)
Typical daytime temperatures in Orlando should be around 27C, falling back to just 14C overnight. The record high temperature is 33C. At night, the record low is 2C, so (despite the average figure of 14C) it would still be wise to prepared for some cool evenings. Orlando averages 90mm of rain during March, which is about 50% more than the 61mm average for London.

This website gives you the weather history for any day, any year, hour by hour. For example they say March 18th in Vegas last year was 80 at 11am, 85 at 2pm and was still 75 degrees at midnight. Very warm. I'n not very au fait with centigrade but I think these temps are warmer than the website Chis is using so take your pick. Just change the date if you want to look at other days or put Orlando in to the search.

I have no experience of Spring Break myself but did some research on it when answering another question on AB.
Spring Break is when schools and colleges have a weeks break from studying and lots of older students go off some to "party". This can make places like Florida busier.
There is no particular week for Spring break, the dates can be between February and April.
Here is a site which lists which colleges are off on what dates and it does seem week begining 17th March is the busiest week with over 2 miilion kids off. The following week (24th March) is not so busy.

It seems from your questions that you have never been to Florida before so here a few basic tips on Orlando theme parks.
Now unfortunatly you have chosen to go to Orlando Easter week (24th March), and that is one of the busiest times of the year for the Orlando theme parks.
I am afraid the theme parks are going to be PACKED and queues for rides are going to be very long, many well over an hour.
You can do nothing to avoid this, but there are a few things you can do to help.
Try to get to the parks early. Obviously they fill up as the day goes on so the first couple of hours are the quietest time.
Most people go round parks clockwise (turning left as they enter the park) so if you get there early consider turning right and go anti clockwise.
Most people start at the front of the park and slowly make their way to the back. If you get there early ignore the rides at the front and head straight for the back.
You can probably get on 3 or 4 different rides before the rest of the crowds make there way to the back.

Most of these theme parks are HUGE and for most of them it is impossible to see everything in each park in one day.
You are not going to be able to get to every theme park while you are there, so you need to decide the 4 or 5 that you want to go to and limit yourself to those.
Not sure of your party make up but a day in a theme park can be a long tiring day and it is difficult to do this day after day.
When we went we tried to alternate between a theme park with lots of rides (say Islands of Adventure) and the next day did a more relaxed park like Sea World.
If the queues for rides are going to be long you may be better going to parks where you look at things rather than spend ages queuing for a 30 second ride.
Sea World was my favorite park. It has some rides, but also loads of shows like the killer whale show that was AMAZING. It a great park to stroll round.
The other park to look at things was Epcot. This is a GIANT park and we spent a day there and did not see half of it. The differant lands at the back of the park is facinating.

another good option to beat the Q's is to use the Fastpasses wisely.
for some rides (most of the big favourites) you can get a Fastpass ticket. You put your park entry ticket in a machine near the ride, and get a Fastpass to return at a given time. IE you go to the Fastpass machine at 10am, and get a ticket to return between 12-1. When you go back, you'll go through a much faster, shorter Q.
You can only get a 2nd Fastpass ticket once your 1st one becomes 'useable'.
So, if your Fastpass is for between 12-1, before you return to the ride to use it, get one for another ride (you'd be able to do this after 12) and you'll save even more time.
To get your Fastpass you insert your park entry ticket - doesn't matter if it's an adult or child one.
I went with my wife and 2 kids. As my son (and I) don't like the faster rides, we gave our tickets to my wife and daughter, so they got fastpasses for 2 popular rides at a time.
Hope that makes sense - it will when you get in the park.

I'm not sure which shows you would like but 'm going there for a couple of days the same week and plan to a see a Cirque du Soleil. There are 3 on, I believe. I've heard all are brilliant so I've got to choose!
I also went to Florida years ago at Spring Break and yes, there were big queues but we still had a great time. Enyoy yourself!

Hi, I have never been to vegas in march, I went in Nov and again i will be going in this Nov, if you have never been before you will be amazed! best place on earth! As for clothes, anything at all goes, you can dress right up or really casual you could be in a posh dress and the person next to you could be in jeans and luberjack shirt! We were casual daytime and smart evening (ie nice dress or smart trousers & evening top) One thing I must say when you go out to eat you really need to go to Belagio's buffet, it's the best in the world, every type of food you can imagine! As for shows your choice is vast, you can book them on line before you go, i did last time and it was fine. Log onto visitlasvegas.com and you will see all the excursion available. have a wonderful time
