PLS HELP,

i bought a tele from dixons in 1995 for 9 pound a month it was 169, I am adament this debt was paid but recently had letters from activ kapital. i followed advise from here to send a statute barred letter via recorded, today i have got a letter with no acknowledgement but saying " final notice of proposed legal proceedings.. I have 7 days...
I have checked my credit file with experian and equafax and there is nothing ref this tele or national tricity finance or activ... Where do i go from here Pls.

Check on the Royal Mail website using their track & trace service that the recorded letter has been received & signed.

Ring the company to find out what's going on.

Also try ringing Dixons & find out what's happened - if they've made a mistake & sold the 'debt' on in error they should resolve this
I have had dealings with Activ Kapital turns out they were chasing me as I shared the same name with someone who owed Barclays, it took a few letters to them and they are not the nicest of people to deal with but they got the message in the end
