Following on from whiffeys Q about after death thingy, some people believe that we will be reincarnated some don't, but have you ever experienced deja vu, when perhaps you drive through some place and know you have been there before and yet you know you haven't.. Or a certain situation occurs and you feel that the same thing has happened before.

Well you know what I mean but it is very hard to explain.

deja vu is supposedly caused by a momentary brain malfunction in which impulses access the memory part of the brain, triggering the feeling of deja vu

Really cazzz well thats put an end to this then :- )

yeh it usually happens when you're tired. what you see and experience is slowed so by the time the brain processes the info you experience it as a memory
sorry puss :O
Ah-maybe deja vu is just a momentary peek into a parallel universe where we are doing almost the exact same thing but just a split second earlier.
well I hope my parallel self is having a better time than me !

pasta awaits her stars
I am not much of a believer in all that stuff. However, my son who is now 6 started talking at a very young age - about 7 months and by a year and a half was talking about his other mamma and he had nightmares about someone chasing him with an axe. The thing that totally spooked us was when we moved into our house when was about 2 and a bit and have a view of the Wallace monument - a tower on a hill - and he said "the master in that tower is not a nice man - he was nasty to my mamma and he hurt my leg." A pretty weird thing for a small child to come out with especially the word "master" which we dont really use nowadays and talking anout mamma which is not a name we use either. He doesn't come out with so much now, but it did get me wondering whether he was remembering a past life. He is also showing a talent for French - totally out of the blue - Speaking french would have been very common among Scots noblemen in bygone days with the Auld Alliance between Scotland and France.

annie0000 that is very interesting I have heard of this type of thing before, very strange !
I went to Stratford -upon-Avon years ago and , although I had never been there before , I knew my way around and felt as though I had lived there , I knew exactly what was round the next corner , it was a very weird feeling , and yet not scary .
The times that I do , or say something , or someone else does ,and I get the feeling that it's been said or done already.
It is strange puss - I have another strange story as well. My husband comes from a bgf family he was very close to an elder brother who died in a house fire at his grandparents house when the brother was 21 and my husband was 13.

It had been a habit of his brother, who worked early shifts, to hide in the hallway of their house for when my husband was due home from school and ambush him for a carry on.

On the night that his brother died, they got the news at 2 o'clock in the morning, when his Dad came up to tell the family the news, he could already hear my husband howling as he knew what had happened already.

The interesting part is what happened a couple of weeks later when my husband was back at school.

He came home one afternoon and out of knowhere his brother jumped on him, just like usual, and they had a rumpus in the hallway - until his Mum came out from the kitchen to see what all the noise was and my husband was standing there alone - obviously.

He knows that it must have been his grief, but he is adamant that he could feel, hear and smell his brother just the same as if he had been there. he also did not fully imagine it, as his mum heard the noise in the hallway. He has never had any other experience since, but he feels it was because he never got a chance to say goodbye.
