What is this?

Can anyone tell me what this is. The previous owners of my house left it in the garden.

This one isn't clear as I was trying out my new camera.

maybe some sort of house leek?

Thanks perigra. Can't take the credit for planting it all though. Also its a shame the hideous blue washing line is cemented in.

Anyway, I've never heard of a house leek! I'm going to look em up.

It a house plant that belongs to the Succulent family of plants. There are many different varieties.
Yep, definitely Houseleek (aka Sempervivum)... mind, I do love your blue alien plant on the left.... bit angular though, reminds me of those creatures whose elbows are above their shoulders.....

As figure says, it is indeed a succulent. Latin name Echeveria chihuahuensis.
