Lost files on iTunes
I deleted a load of duplicate files from Windows media player which were also on iTunes, then deleted them from the recycle bin (after testing one of them to make sure it still played on iTunes!). However, I now have unplayable tracks in iTunes which it cant find the file location for. I do have them on my iPod but can't figure out a way to transfer them back into iTunes.
The affected files are ripped from CD / downloaded from internet.

Media Player was listing the same files that were in iTunes so when you deleted the ones in Media Player you were also deleting the ones in iTunes.
Note that music files are not actually "IN" media player or iTunes, all those applications are doing is listing files that are on your hard disk.
The reason the file still played in ITunes when it was in the recylce bin was that iTunes probably updated its database to point to the file in the recycle bin.

When I did the test I did it after deleting it from the recycle bin.
I also (stupidly) deleted the files from their folder in 'My music' which is what has caused the problem.
Anyway, I know I've done a stupid thing and won't be able to restore them on my computer.
I need advice on how to replace the tracks with the saved copies on my iPod.
