you drink it after a pint!
I drink it WITH a pint
AFTER thats why it's called a chaser.
Hehe,,, I have a chaser of a single malt after a pint.... you should see that pint run down my throat, closely followed (chased) by the malt......
WITH cause that's the way I like it OK?
I would say that was totally acceptable Myriad.... and darned nice too ! Can I have one before as well please ? hic....
come the revolution myriad you'll be stood against the wall and be forced to have a whisky only after you've finished your pint.

viva revalusion!!!!!!!!!
I used to do that in the yard of ale comp.

is anyone going to give me a sensible answer, or are you all drunk? you all seem to like the scotch after or with or anytime with the beer!
Sorry Thunder.....

I thought we had answered the question.... it's called a chaser because it is drunk (ie chased) after the pint....

Anyway, it is no different to a normal shot of whisky, it's just terminology..
Just to confirm that Juggerling is being serious. It is called a chaser when ordered with a pint and is drunk after the pint. Quite simple. A normal shot of whisky.
Alternatively if you drink the whisky first and then the beer, that's usually called a boilermaker - can also be mixed together and or the shot glass dropped into the pint at which point some people will still call it a boilermaker, others a depth charge.
