Are there any mortuary schools in the UK, or what is their equivalent??

I've just Googled it and can't find any. There are loads in the US though.

Hi vulpine - I think we may have one in Manchester, that is Manchester University Oxford road.
In the UK, becoming a funeral director is achieved through 'on the job' training. Those wishing to obtain formal qualifications study for NAFD certificates and diplomas.

My first thought on reading your Q, Vulpine, was omg..... a school that kids have to attend based on some sort of new faith called mortuaryism...... It was only when I read Chris' reply that I realised what you meant ! I've often wondered what sort of qualifications one needed to work in a funeral home or mortuary.....
