i think its time to move out

i think its time to move out, Ive been going on about this for yrs ever since i moved bk home after i graduated in 2006. but alot of things had happen in 2007 so i couldnt really move away esp out of leeds! now im thinking why not move away now? not that i have anything left here, all my mates have moved on, all in relationships etc and forgotten about me.
living with my parents r a pain in the pooo, although i only see them once-twice a weeek (the still drive me maaad!), but i like to go out and come home late when ever i like or bring friends around etc but its pretty hard doing that when theey r around. ive been looking at one bed room flats but they r really expensive 400 a month, thats a big chunk off my monthly salary although i would stil survive!! i dont really like house sharing with other ppl because im afraid they r really messy n dirty in the kitchen or toilet. it just freaks me out,i like to have my own space. is 400 too much for one bedroom flat??? what shall i do? keep looking?

May be you should keep looking? Once you move out, your commited to rental agreement for a period of time, could you afford 400.00 a month realistically? Would you be able to exist financially & do the things you like to do in your spare time? xxx

hi sky how ya well,
yep i can afford 400 easily! then there r other things to consider thu, bills and stuff. which would prob leave me about 200 to spend a month? i am also considering owning a car too! (my parents giving their spare to me) so theres insurance, tax n petrol to consider. mayb if rent was 300 would b slighty better!! .... but i do have alot of savings but not enuf for a deposit for a mortgage as a FTB!! grrr

Hi cuddle - Been thinking! I remember the feeling of wanting to move out, so I understand your need for privacy & a place to take friends back to! So! may be it's worth 400.00 a month to get all that back? Would you be able to return to your parents house if you got in to difficulty? If yes, it's got to be worth it surely?

sky, yep i wouldnt have a problem moving bk to their house if i ever ( Ever) have any financially difficultlty, which i very doubt that, they have a four bedroom house, so when ever me, sis and bro (and sis inlaw) come n visit we have somewhere to stay, but having that privacy would be sooo goood, i lived in liverpool for 3 yrs whilst at uni and i loved the freedom. i also lived in preston for 2 yrs!!
quoi, there is no chance of me parents bailing me out! ive spent 5-7 yrs helping them financially, i even had to take out a graduate loan for them (9k!!), which im paying bk for them now! i am always lending them money but i dont see any of it back. if i do move out, they say they will pay my loan which i took out for them! which is a gd sign.
angel, ive heard of flat share, but if i dont know that person i would find it hard to live with the person because im scared that we might not get on also cleaniness is my big concern, i cant stand messy ppl!!! mayb im just toooo fussy??

Be gald you don't live down south. I bedroom flats average 500/month!
I think if you can afford it you should try. It might be a struggle at first but I think you would feel better being independent. My eldest moved out to share with friends when he first started work and I used to take the occasional food parcel round! (As did all the mums I might add)

It was never an issue for me ... as soon as I could I flew the coop.
you say you graduated in 2006 ... presumably then you returned home from uni
I left for uni (quite a few more years before 2006) ... and from that point on never went back (to live) - only to visit.
I did the married thing, the divorce thing and then the re-married thing .... and at no time even considered returning to parents.
if you are still thinking .... perhaps you are in fact not ready to make the break.
looking for the right time .... at the right price .....
you'll likely still be there in twenty years time .....
If you can't afford .... rethink your budget ....cut your cloth .....
if your poor parents are still driving you maaaad........ just think how they feel about having you hanging round the house at 23 or 24.
