Boxing boxer
In the gym today doing some bagwork with a mate and his dog.
During a breather my mate started jabbing at his boxer who started bobbing and weaving and agging his stump.
I tried this on my ridgeback who just moved a couple of metres away and gave me a 'what the #### are you doing' look.
I took this as a fundamental difference between Ridgebacks and Boxers....any thoughts?

Mirela, that could be: " it was a name given by an Englishman [the breed is German] who was impressed by the way these dogs sparred with one another using their front legs" [ Desmond Morris: "Dogs"].
The author does admit that that is an unlikely reason and prefers the simpler answers that the dogs were brought here as fighting dogs, 'prize fighters' ,or that it derives from the name of one of the breeds in its ancestry, Boxl or Boxeln.
But that they do 'box' one another is obvious enough. The Boxer is one of the breeds that has this 'sparring' off to a fine art

i gave our puppy a famour female boxer's name as well:) guess what is it?:))
lankeela, we took it puppy class now, the first class, she was the worst one, been hyper mad like nuts, but yesterday second class she is much better, we first time tried to use halti, maybe coz that? she was pulling less in the class. several people told us boxer will easily get excited even they are elder, is that true? sometimes it made me exhausted!!i still love her tho:))

Many Boxers are called Tyson or Bruno so I expect yours is named after Muhammed Ali's daughter? Yes they are very excitable and no they do not get better as they get older!
The Halti will stop her pulling while she wears it, but won't teach her not to pull when you take it off.
Hope you both enjoy the training, its the best way to socialise them with people and dogs.
