Looking for a family friendly place to stay in Lyndhurst or nearby that wont break the bank
Any ideas?

This website lists most of the hotels in the area. (208 in total although, of course, most are actually in and around Southampton):

The best option actually in Lyndhurst might be the Crown, but it's not particularly cheap:

That first link has the option to 'filter by price' (at the top right). The 'Express by Holiday Inn' at Nursling (near Jn3 of the M27) scores an impressive 9/10 from 317 reviews and offers good value (especially as children stay free in their parents' room):

Landford is easily accessible from Lynford. (A337 & B3079). That's where the New Forest Lodge hotel is located. It also score 9/10 (from 199 reviews), so it might be worth considering.

I would concur with Chris' research in respect of the New Forest Lodge, which we've used fairly often when our staff have been working at Eastleigh.

The only drawback might be if you don't like Indian Food (the nearest restaurant), but there are some nice pubs reasonably close.
