It is easy to get fooled by these skels - it's a natural reaction to want to be helpful, ahich is what they rely on.
I constantly get requests from 'Nat West' and 'Royal Bank Of Scotland' - I don;t bank with either, and I have a healthy distrust of internet bacnking.
Let's face it, if there are people out there clever enough to get into your PC to leave viruses just for fun, there is a pretty hefty financial incentive to hack in to get to financial details.
I am and always will be and over-the-counter customer.
(Oo-er, that reads all wrong doesn't it!)

Good heavens cheekychops!!! If the NatWest did that in three weeks, I've a good mind to change banks!
I didn't lose that amount of money, yet it took about three months for police, bank and security checks to be done, with a further few days for a trace to be done, which resulted in finding out where the hackers and fraudsters were working from. Even so, I got all my money back, so I'm fairly hopeful for calderdale's daughter.

I have received several of these from 'Natwest', but it was obvious as the first one arrived at the same time as an identical one from'First Direct'.
At first glance it looked realistic, but the phrasing, and use of a z in apologize gave it away.
It is confirmation to me that I am right not to touch internet banking.
Good luck in sorting it out.

Thank you all for your comments ,The Halifax have said that there are thousands in the same boat as my daughter and she is at the back of a long queue . They said they will eventually reimburse her ,but didnt offer her an overdraft facility ..she still has no money ..I wonder if anyone from the Halifax bank is online and could say how long it will take to get her money back ,and how to survive without any money in her account.
