Leaseholders

I own my own house but it is a leasehold property. My leaseholder rang yesterday to say he's sent me a letter in November to ask for my share of the building insurance but that he still hadn't received it. I told him I never got the letter but he implied that I was lying (I'm not) and ranted about the fact that he's out of pocket at the moment as he had to pay my share. Note the fact that he said he wrote in NOVEMBER and this is the first I've heard from him. And he wants the money now - despite the fact I told him I don't have that significant amount of cash (nearly 200!) just sat around and its not payday for a few weeks yet and he said to send him the ground rent due this month which makes the total nearly 300 - and its not like he takes credit cards! He was really rude and demanding and he's also refused to send me a copy of the insurance policy - he could have just made up the amount and I don't even know if I'm covered for insurance.
Anyone any advice for me?

Nope - the insurance (buildings) is defintely arranged by the leaseholder for the 2 domestic properties and the shop and I have to pay one third of the premuim. I have no idea how much even ballpark how much the insurance for the whole building should be but it would be nice to see a copy of the policy!
Request a copy of First Letter.
And with a copy of the Insurance details.
Explain you will require it in case of a claim and to ensure You have sufficiant Cover. You are paying for it you should be able to see Limitations Ect.... He/ She is chancing there luck .
No way pay instant cash in a phone call.
Also add in future you would Like to receive a reminder that Bill will be due in a few weeks time.
