The cost in the court system alone if you tried to deport someone would be much more than this.
I would like to see this extended to home grown criminals as well - maybe offering scum 10,000 to go and live in Poland or somewhere?
In fact, why not extend it to anyone on benefits - 10k would be far less than they would claim in a year on benefits - give it to them up front and let them go if they want to.

Even better economical sense would be to kick them out WITHOUT a nice lump sum. **** 'em. I understand we signed up to the same immigration laws as the rest of the EU - therefore if the rest of Europe can be tough, so can we.
What we have, Loosehead, is a government not fit to govern, who do not have the competence to govern nor the courage to govern. Cash incentives to the lazy, the criminal and the those who should not be here. Taxing to the hilt the responsible, the law-abiders and the workers.

i think im quite a liberal person but this seems like madness, if theyre to be sent home just send them. if you come to this country you should be expected to abidee by this country's laws.
the same as if i went to any other country as an immigrant i would learn their language and their customs and abide by their laws.
If i were to break there laws i would expect to be punished not given a cash sum to b u g g e r off.

I totally agree with Nikki. Kick them all the f uck out with nothing to their names. That 3k could be going towards more important issues at hand, here are a few that sprung ti mind: -
Cancer Research and other researches
Homlessness
Transport
Education
National Security
The list is endless, and each one on the list is more important than some thumb head being shooed onto a plane with 3k in his "sky rocket"
get em out!

The Home Office said that the 3,000 package would make it easier to return foreign criminals quickly to their home countries. It compared the cost of the package with the estimated cost of 11,000 to make an enforced removal from Britain.

Do you think that prison officers, van drivers, airport staff, immigration officials, court representatives, pilots, baggage handlers and air stewards work for free?
The 3,000 means that the government doesn't have to pay these people to remove them - costing no doubt more than 3k - which means that we save money.

Another rich one from Quinlad
These workers staff and officials will still have to be employed so how come the saving?
Baggage handlers? They came here with nowt they can go back with nowt. saving there then.
Air Stewards? No onboard meals etc needed. in fact no need for airport staff pilots etc. Most of them came in the back of a lorry, ship them back the same way.
The goverment should save the 3,000s and stop giving so much of our money away to overseas, including 8billion to Africa.
How is it that a developed country like ours has no cash to spend, to improve our Motorways, instead of thinking of such stupid ideas like turning the Hard Shoulder into a 4th lane.
But then we have all come to expect these mad cap ideas from the left.

The proper treatment of a foreign-born criminal:
Tattoo the rapist, robber or murderer with a number. Stigmatising? You bet. The choice to commit their crimes was theirs and theirs alone. Then charter a plane for Angola, or Pakistan or Romania etc. As there are thousands of illegals for each country, this scheme can't lose. Round up enough illegals/foreign criminals to fill the craft to capacity, housing those waiting in removal centres until enough numbers are rounded up. Sedate all deportees humanely and transport them to the plane. Employ a few security personnel to keep guard and order during the flight, also one medical employee to ensure safety of deportees. If need be, build a small group of recovery cells at destination airports such as in Karachi, so that the deportee can awake and get their bearings once rousing from their slumber back in their homeland. They are now back home and no longer our problem. If they attempt to reach Britain again - sadly there'll be nothing and no-one to stop them - they can be identified by the tattoo and similarly condemned by a scar in the same place. Deportation again. No appeals, no lawyers, no time-wasting.
This scheme may not necessarily be much cheaper than the proposed one. However my idea does not in any way reward the criminal with liquid assets - this is very important. In the same way that jailing a person for owing fifty pounds costs thousands to imprison them, sometimes important messages need to be sent out to the general public rather than worry about expense.

NikkiB - are you saying foreign born criminals or non- British. As an example, if a child came over when about 5 years old and then took British Citizenship, would they be deported?
You start off by talking about rapists and murderers but then mention 'thousands' - obviously there is not even a thousand murders a year in this country (committed by both British nationals and foreign nationals), so I am unsure as to who you are now talking about.
Do these people still get a trial, and what about an appeals procedure? Do they serve their prison sentence over here or over there?

The only problem with kicking them out of the country is which country is going to let them be dumped on their doorstep? Not the same ones that were glad to see them go in the first place. The solution to this problem is simple, some might say uncivilized, round them up, pack them onto some old rust bucket freighter, tow them 200 miles out into the north sea and tell `em to kiss their arses goodbye. brutal? inhumane ? you bet ! Any country that feels sorry for them is welcome to them.
Fair points, all of them.
Unfortunately our stupid, stupid Government has got itself in a mess over this by a series of pathetic legislative measures over the last 10 years (no, they can't blaim the Tories). The outcome is that you cannot just get rid of these people because of the way the way the legislation has been enacted - including the way the EU Human Rights Directive was enacted - European Directives are enacted by each country passing Acts.
Liberty and the other human rights organisations just run rings around the enacted legislation - that's why it cannot be done.
Because of the huge enforcement effort required to remove these people, only the most severe cases are being dealt with.

NikkiB - Can you leave my country please. Your morals and opinions are way out of line with our culture and tradition, so kindly leave with the other undesirables. Might I suggest Saudi Arabia? I think that your rather brutal concept of punishment would fit in rather well with the harsher end of Sharia law, so you'd fit in well.
NikkiB - I think supernick answered your question already: "Your morals and opinions are way out of line with our culture and tradition
Interested as to why you can't answer the basic questions that I have asked though? I can only assume from your lack of contribution that you have an ill thought out plan which you have realised is ludicrous.
