What about a prequel?

So far the Harry Potter series only tells of Harry's becoming of a wizard but what about before Harry's parents died...a prequel would be nice?

It would be pretty nice. But I think she already told us enough about Harry before his parents died. Well, things that are really important. But she said that she probably won't write an 8th book, unless it's for a charity.

I would like to learn more about James Potter, espeacially about the parts where he was friend with Sirius and they make fun of Snape.

I think a prequel will be an excellent idea. But JKR kind of puts details from the past into her books. Like Snape's pensieve showing Harry what it was like when James was in school. But I would like to know more about Lily and James lives as Hogwarts students.

There definitely won't be a prequel. Sorry to bust your bubble, but J.K Rowling says that there won't be, but hey, I think it would have been nice.
