getting that vintage denim look

I have a dark denim pair of jeans which I want to look like 'vintage' ie. faded and ripped does anyone have any hekpful hints or suggestions?

You can just wear them normally for a few years and they'll end up faded and ripped! Alternatively, keep your perfectly good pair of jeans, and go to a charity shop to find some that are already faded, and they'll be very cheap too.

To rip them subtely and create a worn effect then rub a cheese grater of them.  it really works and if done hard enough creates rips but when used subtely creates a worn down effect.  it really works!  You could also try bleach but use sparsely!!
