SMTP Problems

I realise that others may have asked this question before but none of the answers seem to help. I am having problems sending e-mails on my freeserve account. The smtp seems correct and I am using Windows Mail. I have no problems receiving e-mail but I keep getting the same error message when I try to send mails. Can anyone please help as freeserve technical support is hopeless

Error message says:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'dsa', Account: 'pop.orangehome.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.orangehome.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I've had that error message quite a few times over the years. I've always managed to fix it (in Outlook Express, rather than in Windows Mail) by completing deleting the account and then re-creating it.
