I have 3 children with my husband ages 15, 11 and 9. My husband has had a child with someone else, this child is 1. My husband employer has a death benefit scheme of 150,000 which he has now split 50/50. Is there any reason this amount cannot be split between the 4 children and they be named as the beneficiaries?

what does his will say? Dosent this benefit form part of his estate to be then distributed according to his will. I guess it will depend on the schem. With mne they ask who i want to be the beneficiary and i could tel them who i liked, probably in the proportions i like. perhaps the ex prefers the new child to the existing ones?
