or you may mean

There is a famous apocryhfal (sp?) story that the sax solo is played by Bob Holness from 'Countdown'.

It was started by Stewart Maconie when he was a writer for the NME, and compiling their 'Thrills' gossip column. In the way of these things, people decided to see who could get the most ludicrous idea believed, simply by putting it 'out there' - and this is one - and it cocmes back to haunt him regularly.

Similarly, the notion that adults swallow eight spiders during their lifetime while aseep is again a complete myth, put on the Web just to see who would believe it.

BTW - the sax on 'Baker Street 'is played by Rafe Ravenscroft.

'Will You' was first released in 1980 (as a single a year later); the sax solo was by Wesley Magoogan who later joined The Beat.

Baker Street! I lose count of the number of people who ask me, when I say I play sax, if I can play Baker Street.

I refuse, point blank, even to learn it and not just because I don't like it that much. It is to the saxophone what Heart and Soul is to the piano and what Smoke on the Water is to the guitar - cliched. ;-)
