Road Closed Traffic Signs
Hello,
This is my 1st post so I hope that I get it right!
We are a voluntary organisation who stage, each year, a fun run, during the duration of which it is neccessary to close several minor roads. We obtain the relevant permission from police, councils etc but each succeeding year sees our costs spiralling and thus eating away at our kitty. One of the areas that we are looking at to reduce annual costs, after an initial outlay, is in making our own road traffic signs, 'road closed' etc. I have searched endlessly on the web but all the sites relating to this topic are full of goobledeegook or ask the viewer to buy the gov. booklet at a cost of 35+. Which is fine if you are a contractor making millions. We,obviously are not.
Does anyone know the legal sizes for such traffic signs and the sizes of the lettering, spaces etc. please?

Another option is to cut and paste the image in question and blow it up to colour print it on A3 size for example and laminate it. You can practise inserting text until it matches the size of the blown up font and then as they say, Robert is yir father's brother!
I'll have a look in the meantime to see if there's a Road Closed sign in the Acts relating to road signs.
