what is the name in english, of the chinese condiment which blends the basic tastes of chinese foods, i.e. sweet, sour, bitter, savoury and salty, the first word can be hyphenated or two seperate words,
thought it would be soy sauce but dont think so thanks for any help
Hi! Just had a look in my Chinese cook book - it does mention Ve-Tsin which is a derivation of monosodium glutamate used to enhance foodsetc. Still not sure though if it is the answer you are looking for.
Have never actually used the book - perhaps I should try, some of the recipes sound delicious but .... the local takeaway is umm an easier option!!!
i know what you mean alfie, its become a pain in the but this question to be honest will look up if there is an englis version of what you have mentioned, thanks a lot will let you know
thanks alfie but NO thats a brand lol, seems everyone has this answer except me , but i still cant see that it can be soy sauce as you never see that hyphenated ta anyway all of you
OK, what's the difference between a seasoning and a condiment. My co-conspirator in this quiz sent me answer and I said that's a seasoning! But it does fit five tastes and it was used in recipes I found with those tastes.
