Lippo suction
3 Answers
Hi, my daughter is thinking of having lippo done on her body, as an illness left her having to have a long course of steroids which resulted in a lot of weight gain, and im wondering if anyone out there has had this done and what their results were. Thankyou

When done properly by a good surgeon the results can be excellent but there have been a few cases over the years of women dying or becoming very ill after this surgery. The one I can think of off the top of my head was the wife of Colin Hendry.

If your daughter decides she is definitely having this procedure ask her to see her GP for a recommendation to a good surgeon and to not just go for the cheapest.

tamirra - tell your daughter to hang on and try other methods first of all! My friend's just had a holiday in Poland and decided to use it to have lippo done while she was there. The clinic was very high-tech, and the procedure went well, until she got home. Then she started having stomach pains, and was leaking from the puncture wounds. Turns out something's gone very wrong, and she'd now badly infected.
Liposuction works best on people who are not overweight, but have stubborn areas of fat, which won't go even through diet and exercise.
I had Lipo a few years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. In my family, we carry all our excess fat around the mid sections. No matter how slim I got, I still had a huge stomach. Most of my body would be size 10, but my waist and stomach would remain size 14. Since having it done my body is in proportion and clothes fit me comfortably.
My ex partner was on Prednisilone and it caused very large build up of fat, including the "moon face" look. I know how hard it was for him to lose body fat and even when he got fit, he still had large amounts of fat on his torso.
If your daughter does opt for Lipo, she should do her research carefully and check her surgeon out thoroughly. Ask her GP to reccomment a reputable surgeon. But I would suggest she tries to lose as much weight as she can through diet and exercise and then any stubborn areas can be treated.
