Are there more calories in a slice of bread if you toast it?

I'm pretty sure they are the same.
They're exactly the same - how could they not be??!! If you toast bread, all you're effectively doing is removing the water from it, which has no calories anyway.

There may be more calories per gram since the total slice weight is less (due to water loss) and the number of calories per slice may stay the same (if not burnt). That's what happens for oven chips anyway.
