Our office has Radio 1 on in the background (I know- lucky me!) and I just heard Eamonn (of absolutely rubbish song fame) do a cover of Coldplay's The Scientist, and it was amazing! Did anyone else hear it? And while we're on the subject, who's the best band/artist you've ever heard in the Live Lounge?

Never heard of eamon but anybody covering coldplay shgould be shot. Elbow were the best in the live lounge. Also Coldplay themselves were amazing. Did a great acoustic "Yellow"

Surely it's a compliment if somebody covers your work? I thought Will Young's cover of Outkast was good, as was Jamie Cullum's cover of Nerd.
not necessarily. I would love certain people to sing a song that i wrote, but not for instance captain sensible or timmy mallet, certain versions are bets left alone. And i dont think anyone could do a better job of a coldplay song than , er, coldplay. No matter how amusing it may be. Just my opinion.
Embrace did a fantastic cover of eminems 'how come' not so long ago. Wish i could find it somewhere online - wanna hear it again!

Yeh, I heard that too. I just think it's really refreshing to hear another band's take on a classic track...but only if it's good! Radio 1 Live Lounge wouldn't play the crap ones, anyway.
i saw embrace perform that live last night. did indeed rock, although i hate d12 / eminem hatever he is called this week.
destinys child was pretty impressive a few years back, but i would say that cos im a big fan lol....but that day i think beyonce had broke her arm or something and kelly had a soar throat, but as usual, they done good!!
