"To thee I phenge my ewitt, and by this sword ...... "
Part of an inscription scratched on a broken medieval urn found in the ruins of a Stoke On Trent bingo hall.
Was phenging your ewitt a pagan or Christian practice, and what do you think the rest of the phrase might have said or suggested?

Wizard - As a native of Stoke On Trent I was hoping you would be able to shed some light on phenging ewitts.
Is there nothing in your local museum or off licence that would give us a clue?
