PLastic Milk bottle tops

Every now and then people ask for these to be collected to hep wheelchairs so I collect all the time waiting for the next request but can anyone tell me how are they used to help wheelchairs ( what are they used for) and is there anywhere I can send my surplus collection ?

Not sure if you are aware, but search engines like google can find the answer to almost anything.
