'Models Wanted' adverts in hairdressers

I was thinking about enquiring at 'Toni & Guy' & was wondering whether anyone here has 'modelled' for a hairdresser? Do you get to choose your cut and colour and how much cheaper / time consuming is it (roughly)?

My sister does occassional modelling for Vidal Sassoon in Manchester - she gets not say in the cut or colour (apart from Yes or No) but she gets it free and it's from the "Top Stylist" as she is ised to train the others in how to do a new style. She does it about twice a year, scouted off the street.. Takes about twice as long as the stylist is teaching as welll and she has to have head shots done afterwards and throughout - usually about 4-5 hours.

My daughter has been a model for a hairdresser .It did take a lot longer than usual but the hairdresser was very experienced and was simply learning that hairdressing chains way of doing things. The style involved cutting which my daughter had a big say in but anything else - colour etc wasnt included in the deal ( it was free). There were no photos taken at any time. If you have the time - give it a go.

A friend of mine regularly sits for Toni and Guys students. She has been doing it for years, and it costs her �5 (I think). I am not sure whether or not she chooses her style or colour, but I can ask her tonight if you want.

My daughter modelled for Toni and Guy, she didn't have a choice of what she had done, she only had a wash and blow dry, but it looked nice and cost nothing, it took longer than usual, she was asked to model by my niece who was a student there.

I have had a colour correction done at T+G so I had a say. However you are better off to ask first. I've also modelled for a student.........I did get a say, but if they want to do whatever they want to your hair they will and there is nothing you can do. The guy that did my hair told me of a girl with long hair and the student chopped it all off despite what she asked for.

I had my hair done as a model today at toni and guy. the hair cut was excellent and i got to pick the style and all for �10! although on the down side it took about one hour.

I have been having my hair cut as a model at Vidal Sasoon in Manchester for years. They do exactly what I want and the charge is only �7.50. The trainees are very capable and they are well supervised. I reckon I get a better cut there than I would paying full price at many other places. The down side is that it does take longer, and they only need models on certain days. I also have my hair coloured as a model at Wella, and that costs me �15. Again, it takes longer, more or less the whole morning/afternoon, but they do a great job.

i have modeled for toni and guy in the US. it was free and obviously they can't do anything without your consent. i told them what they could not do and left the rest up to them. it turned out to be one of the best cuts ive ever had and it was totally free. they cut and colored my hair and i would do it again in a heart beat.

i did modelling at loriel in london, i sat for hours having rollers put in my hair to demonstrate for a large group a new perm they were bringing out (many years ago) afterwards she didnt have time to do my hair (i was there for colour correction) so she gave me free products- not a gr8 experiance. i also did several successful modelling sessions at a vidal sassoon salon, all good- until one time the trainee cut 3 inches off my hair instead of a 1/2 inch trim, i was furious.basically modelling is done by someone still training- so you are taking a risk

This would be a dream come true for me i was scouted by a model company and they are going to contact me soon i have blonde long hair which goes half way down my back. i have blue eyes aswell i love toni and guy stuff and i all ays try to use their products when i can. thanks from Becky-j

I've been hair modelling for over 20 years. As well as the posh places like L'oreal etc, I have been going to my local college. It can take ages, but not only do I get a free or nearly free hairdo but also the pleasure of helping someone along the path to their chosen career.

Also, at that level, once the student has had a go, the tutor comes over & puts the final touches, so you do get a good job done. If the worst happens, well it does grow out!

I used to be on a list of models for a top hairdressing school, they would ring me up if they wanted someone with long hair, or I would be asked if I would like to try a new product. It was a lot of fun!

You should always have the final say of course, they shouldn't do anything unless you're willing.

Hi,I'm an Apprentice at T&G Newark  hoping to varder in colouring and we really appreciate when models come in.

I know it takes that little bit longer but we need you to help us qualify!!!!  And as all training is under supervision we get our training and you get your free cut or colour.  If its both your after ask the recepetionist they usually can accomate you, I just like to say thanks to anyone that offers to model its as nerve reckonong for us as it is for you!!

Oh and it saves money coz sometimes its for free now uyou can't beat that
