Hair Dye
4 Answers
I've naturally got brown hair but have been highlighting it for a couple of years now so it's basically blonde now, but I haven't been able to afford to have my roots done recently! So its looking pretty horrible, is it a bad idea to buy a pot of blonde hair dye and do it myself? I just want blonde hair all over that doesn't cost a fortune!!

Look in windows as you pass hairdressers and they are often advertising for a model to get a free cut or colour for a trainee. I thought mine looked nice. It just took ages because they were being trained.
In fact mine took longer than it should of done because I had tried colouring my hair at home and they had to do a colour correction on my hair first.

Hi lubecki
I go to the local college where they teach hairdesign. They always do a fabulous job, I've never had ANY problems, (the teacher supervises at all times).
The cut and all over colour costs me around 8.00. If it's an all over colour PLUS highlights its around 12.00 (not alot more than a tube of dye from the supermarket). This includes the wash n blow dry, cuppa coffee etc...just like a real salon.
If you have a college close by i'd say get in contact with them.

Hiya
I'm in exactly the same boat as you so I took the plunge and bought a blonde hair dye. I bought mine from superdrug. Bought the own make hair lightener and hair dye - two for 5.00 (my mate uses it all the time and now has gorgeous bright blonde hair). Was terrified whilst it was developing but has come out well. Roots still a bit darker then rest but blends in better than the black roots and as was soooo cheap have enough cash to dye my hair again on Wed which will sort out the darker roots.
I'm converted. Why pay a fortune to get it done at hairdressers when u can do it yrself.
