Velvetee, can't answer your first question, but I know from your previous thread, and this, that hygiene concerns you.
Let me reassure you, then, that if you keep your dog clean and healthy, you have nothing to worry about. Staffs are pretty short-haired, so your Q about "deposits" on the bum, which I know has been answered, probably doesn't matter much. Dogs do self-clean, anyway, but it is very easy to help them in that if they are short-haired.
If you keep them wormed, and flead, and use something like a powder or spray for your carpets and furniture, and wash your hands when preparing food, and all the other things you do anyway in terms of hygiene, it won't be a problem!
Staffs are lovely; it is a shame they are "misused" by people wanting to gain status. People I know who own Staffies love and respect the breed, and it shows in the dog's good nature and obedience.
Lots of luck, and if you get a pup let us know and post pictures!
