flight booking
why when I tried to book flights for 2 friends with easyjet, would they not accept the booking until I provided passport numbers and dates of birth for both travellers.

Since mid 2007 the Spanish authorities require this info before you can travel. Some airlines (like Jet2) collect this at check-in and transmit it electronically before the flight takes off, others (like EasyJet) collect it at the time of booking and send it by other means. If you look on the airlines website there will be something (hidden away) to tell you about this.

It's a realy good idea actualy helps make sure you've got theproper documentation before you part with your money!I've seen other pasengers turned away at airport checkins more than once due to lack of or incorrect papers ,once on an expensive holiday to India a passenger turned up minus a visa despite several warnings in holiday literature.Remember too most of Europe use I.D. cards so are more aware of who's in the country wish we did the same!
