Ford quick clear windscreens

I have a Ford Fiesta, it has a quick clear windscreen. I'm thinking about changing my car to something bigger, is it only Fords that do the quick clear windscreens?

If you want one that clears mist quickly just get one with Air/Con, that will clear it quicker thgan a heated front screen.

Ford invented the quick clear windscreen (which is not the same as a demister/air con). They hold the patent and are not likely to give it up. In the past you would only find it on a ford - but other companies that are owned by ford are allowed to use it too. So you could see it on a Jaguar, Aston Martin, Volvo or Mazda.

For spaced - It is a heated front screen that uses small wires that are similar to the principal of the heated screen in the back Oh and I am still waiting (remember :

My brothers X type Jag has got one, my Ford van has got one, but my Volvo car doesn't (it does however, have a quick demister with an electric heater element in the fan, rather than using the engine heat [if you see what I mean]).

all the ford range, lexus , Toyotas, jags , subaru's, some are heated througout and some are heated at the bottom along the wiper line only, They are brill and are very effective at demisting and killing a not so good battery also......

Tubeway - yes I agree (only this once) that an apology is due. I thought as a Fleet Manager was up to date with most car related items, but you have got me there with the MOT thang

Heated Screen - yes thats what my focus has, but hot air through the vents is still quicker in my opinion.

I think that quick clear is better because you do not have to wait for the engine to heat up - at the moment I have a Vauxhall Vectra and I end up scraping the ice off the screen with an ice scraper - it is probably worse because it is a diesel - but quickclear only ever took a couple of minutes at most

Ford may have used the quick clear windscreen in main stream cars first but the technology for laminated heated screens has been around ages, old jags and other old british cars had them in the heated rear screens ,
