Car insurance

I am learning to drive, and to be added to my parents insurance policy will cost me �2500 a year on top of their current policy. Is it possible for me to get my own car insurance for their car?

No, you cannot insure one vehicle twice.

It would probably be better to buy a 'cheap' used car in your name and insure that - still going to be very costly though.

I suspected as much. The downside of buying a cheap car is the road tax etc etc...

i cant believe it will cost that much to add you on your parents policy,a couple of hundred yes,but not that much.why so much,do you have points,do your parents have points,if not they should be looking for a new insurer,as they are being ripped off,what car is it.explain more details.

Is there more than one car in the household? If there is they rate you as being the main user (whether you use it once in a while or daily, the main reason being the insurers clicked onto parents insuring cars for their children so by rating you as the main user it was to deter parents from doing this) That said, �2500 is an extremely high additional premium, if i were you id would start to look about for an alternative quote.
